Rehat has no accounts. Games you play on your own device stay on your device. This page is about the two things that leave it: online rooms and the chat at the table.
Online rooms
- A room is one small file on the server holding the moves, the two display names you typed, and the chat. It is gone 4 hours after the game ends, or 24 hours after the last move if it is never finished.
- The room code is the only key. Anyone you send the link to can join or watch.
Chat, kept for research
Messages typed at the table may be kept for up to 90 days so we can study how the chat is used and improve it. What is kept:
- The message text and whether it came from a one-tap phrase, the game, whether the sender was a player or a watcher, how far the game had progressed, and the time to the second.
- A scrambled room id and a scrambled sender id, so messages from one room or one person can be grouped. They are one-way hashes with a secret that stays on the server; they cannot be turned back into a room code or a name.
What is not kept: display names, room codes, IP addresses, browser details, or anything about people who only watch without chatting.
- The copy is not shared with anyone and is deleted automatically after 90 days.
- You see a short notice in the chat panel before your first message. If you would rather not be part of this, simply do not use the chat; the game works without it.
Everything else
- Saved games, your record against the computer, best times and your display name live in your browser's storage only.
- Fonts load from Google Fonts. No analytics, no ads, no cookies.
